TINA MODOTTI : Between Art & Revolution – Italy- Mexico – India

 Tina Modotti (Italy, 1896 – Mexico, 1942) one of the rarest, most fragile and at the same time stronger personalities of early modern photography and Pandurang Khankhoje, hero among the brave Indian freedom fighters in the early XX Century who played a decisive role in the creation and direction of the famous Ghadar Party – The Party of the Mutineers, met in Mexico in the very first years after the Mexican Revolution.

This exhibition of 60 photographs by Tina Modotti and memorabilia of Pandurang Khankhoje is a breathtaking example of her art, a testimony to their friendship, those experiences and inspiring times. 30 of these photographs will be on display worldwide for the public for the very first time. The 30 remaining photographs were developed from Tina’s negatives in Mexico especially for the occasion.
